The daily news

So okay. We’ve turned up the heat, fed the dogs, made the coffee. Now let’s take a look at the morning paper, shall we?

spill
The lead article is about a drunk driver who rammed into the wastewater pumping station. I know where I hope some of the sewage landed.

stone
I don’t know. Somehow seems like “a stone’s throw” is a little lacking in hyperbole to describe a boulder of that size. Sorry about the tooth marks in this pix … the littlest dog brought the paper in this morning.

Artifact
Care to guess what this headline is about? Here’s a hint: Woof! And now the actual article lead:
article

The remains mean bones, folks. If First People remains are found along the waterfront, then building is curtailed. Is anyone surprised that companies would deny access to the sniffer dogs? So how come the city fathers (and mothers) didn’t realize it before they paid $19,000 to the California sniffers to come up here and be rejected?

Did somebody say Dog Patch?

The best news of all is that the days are now getting longer again … there’s always room for a little more sun on the back nine. Hope all the rest of the news is good in your corner of the world.

    So far so good!
Although, what is up with people and dogs lately? We have a whole thing going with state corrections officers no longer being able to bring their working dogs home, they have to kennel them at night now, “because they are property of the state, and not family pets”. The dogs are showing signs of distress, and by their own admission were being housed in substandard kennels, “but they have been improved”. They showed one shepherd in the handlers house, and then in the kennel with feces laying all around and the dog curled up in the corner. Broke my heart. Sorry, I kind of hijacked your comments huh. I’m done, sorry again, lol!
