Dancing Queen

Pat dancing costume
I met Pat and her husband on a cruise ship and we have stayed in touch ever since. After reading my last post (The Seamstress), she sent this photo of the dancing costume her mother made for her. She tells me her legs don’t look quite so good these days, but I don’t know … she looks good to me.

I realize I should have invited you all to email pix of outfits you or your relatives have made, to fromthebacknine@gmail.com and I would be happy to post them. Keep it in mind for this Halloween, and let me know what sort of “caption” you would want. Trust me … you don’t want me to make up my own.

Surely one of these is home-grown? http://www.sundrymourning.com/2008/08/20/awkard-phase-still-going-strong/ If not, I will bust out one of the 329295921 photo books Grandma made. : )

Linda: Actually, I don’t think any of these can be blamed on your grandmother. The green hat is my fault … a friend made it and the matching dress for you before you were born. I must have wanted to give you a Kermit complex early on. For heaven sakes, if the photo albums are buried, don’t drag them out, not without the help of a team of draft horses or two. AL

Actually, I enjoyed watching the transformation from tiny to through awkward years to lovely young lady. Thanks for sharing. Keith
